The WelldiggersArtesian-Americana Alt.Roots Music
If you spend enough time digging
through the rich soil that holds the roots of American music, you’re going to find something good. The Welldiggers play music born at the intersection of country, folk, blues, rock & roll, cajun, and gospel/R&B with the occasional hint of a psychedelic overtone. Some people call that Americana.
Based in Portland, Oregon, The Welldiggers are singer/songwriters Todd Samusson and Dan Rhiger. Both are long-time veterans of the Portland acoustic-music arena and each brings a large catalog of original music to the mix.
Strong vocals delivering engaging lyrics are at the core of The Welldiggers’ music. Their voices carry rich melodies and harmonies. It’s a sound reminiscent of music you’ve always loved: The Band, Neil Young, John Hiatt, Van Morrison, Gillian Welch, Lyle Lovett, Dylan, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, the Avett Brothers, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, acoustic Dead, maybe even acoustic Springsteen.
